First in First Serve?
If someone is there first, you need to wait in line, especially with public transport. Don't go out of your way and demand a school kid to stand. This rule should apply in all buses! If the student doesn't want to stand up for you, don't start mouthing him off to the other adult passengers.

That might be true if there weren't stickers plastered everywhere to direct students to not occupy seats while adults are standing...
