Burita in TW

I've finally arrived in the place where I'll spend the next three weeks in. The town Yu-Chih (aka Fish Pond) I'll call home. This town has the features of a small town: small shops, dirt roads etc. The bus ride was approximatlely 4 hours from taipei.
Things so far have been good. We've met the main leaders of the church who will spoon feed us for the next three weeks. Let's hope it will be a fruitful three weeks. Until then Buritels

Taiwan Day 2

Went to DanShui today and found some old dude who was selling fireworks. We decided that it would be beneficial to buy big while we can. I think we spent around $20. When we first saw the old man's supply of illegal fireworks, ours eyes lit up with glee. It was the type of feeling when you see your favourite toy that you have been longing for the past few years. We felt like little boys again and our mouths were drooling with lust. The old man offered us fireworks that shoot up from this little stick and we thought that would be enough. However, we asked him if there were any bigger ones and he took out this massive box. This massive box can supposedly shoot up around 100 shots. When we heard this our mouths were wide open. Ping did not hesitate to spend his hard earned money for this purpose.

After smuggling 5kg worth of fireworks in murrays bag, we caught the train back to XiMen. On the first night of our adventure, I ate the nicest street food ever! Especially the asian pancakes with ham and eggs. One of the greatest meals i've ever had. We decided to try and find that "lady" who cooked the pancakes. THe others were paying me out and thought I was in love with her. Well maybe i am... she's still young but meh I think shes too old for me anyway. NExt time I'm in the taipei streets I'll wait for her again, her shift starts at 930 every night.

One of the most memorable moments of Taipei is the policemen. As soon as the cops come near, the street hawkers all pack up their stalls and run away. They merely move 100m down the road and will be safe for another hour. I rekon the cops are doing a horrible job if they can't catch these people. The cops are all on scooters while these stalls are wheeled and pushed by hand....

Anyways I will end this blog now as others want to use the internet.
I'll see you all soon

Let the festive season begin!

TW Day 1.

Hi everyone, it is hard for me to update my blog as internet time is fairly limited. In HK, we got conned by this guy called Mr Li, who promised us free wireless however didn't deliver. We ended up buying an internet card which only had 10 hrs on it. I will be updating my blog extensively in the days to come when I'm settled in my new place in Nantou.

Currently I'm in Taipei. THis place is awesome,it is filled with food and a culture which I think i really relate to. THe culture over here has a very strong American influence that can be seen through the basketball and baseball advertisements all over the city.

The hostel is much better than the one we stayed in HK. I'll elaborate on it soon as I have many things to say about that crappy hostel.

Till then, stay safe and God Bless.

Farewell from Taipei
