The Clash of the Titans

Just a quick one today to maintain consistency. Today marked one of the biggest sporting events ever. The two heavyweights of Chinese basketball squared off for the first time in the NBA when the Houston Rockets hosted the Milwaukee Bucks for a regular season game. Yao Ming being the "Michael Jordan" of Chinese basketball while Yi Jianlian; the upcoming Cantonese star. The whole Asian community was held at a standstill this morning, marveling at the intensity and excitement from the game. China probably lost about 3% of it's GDP from un-productiveness. The game was fairly one sided towards the end but nevertheless the countless amount of Asians in Sunnybank loved every second of it. Although big brother Yao did outperform his younger rival, many saw the great potential in Yi. Yao himself even claimed that Yi will one day surpass Yao's achievements due to his age and never ending potential. Hopefully in the near future, we can see this happen more than twice a year with upcoming talent ripping through the Chinese leagues.

This is not the greatest of photos, but is funny nonetheless. It really does highlight the headline of this blog. A true clash, figuratively and literally.
